Death is seen in different ways around the world. While some people dread it because they often associate it with the emergence of all things evil, others consider it as celebration for the life of their deceased ancestors and loved ones.
Inspired by the Sugar Skulls and the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Mosaic Skulls intend to personify a joyful spirit of Life.

Copper Pony Dream Totem

Copper Pony
"Notes from a simple lifestyle/waking dream:
I live in a semi-rural part of the City. In the morning, we wake up to the crowing of a nearby rooster. Later in the morning the chickens squawk to let the whole neighborhood know who laid an egg.
We smile to see three pygmy goats on our bike ride to the Co-op to get our groceries. There are a half dozen sheep who live in an big fenced lot between our home and the Inter-state.
No surprise to be greeted by big, dark, curious eyes from over the top of the cinder block wall between our houses. The horse next door waited patiently as I shaped my clay to mimic the curve of his nose and the tilt of his ears.
I like to imagine my part-time neighbor-horse is a working pony in his other life. He comes to stay behind the cinder block wall with the squawking chickens for 3 or 4 days, then the horse trailer takes him away to go to work again. I like to think he spends most of his time with real live cowboys out riding the range."
